Katie Barnett

Studio founder

I am a professional vocal coach based in Glasgow, Scotland with ten years of teaching experience. I specialise in working with clients within the performing arts industry, but enjoy coaching people of all abilities and at all stages of their singing journeys.

I believe in creating a safe, creative space for people to explore their voices without judgement and fear. My lessons are fully tailored to each individual as I believe singing is not one size fits all.

As well as one to one sessions, I have worked as a vocal mentor on several productions, including the recent US Tour of Islander the Musical and Thank U, Next with the National Theatre of Scotland. One of my lessons was filmed for an episode of BBC’s Panorama, exploring how singing can aid long covid recovery. I am also an experienced panelist for drama school auditions, and have been a guest lecturer on the BA course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

I am part of the team at Valentine Voice Care here in Glasgow, where I benefit from working alongside vocal care experts of many disciplines.

I am committed to expanding my training, and am a graduate of the Evolve teacher training course led by renowned vocal coach Chris Johnson. I am currently in training as a Vocal Habilitation Professional with Vocal Health Education.

James Siggens

James is a lecturer in Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Juniors and Short Courses, is studying for his PG-Cert in learning and teaching in the arts and has 10 years of professional performance experience. He has a BA in Musical Theatre from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.


He is offering 1-1 singing lessons for those who want to build an awareness of their voice, improve their performance skills and nurture their love of music and performing.

Darla is a 4 year old Toy Poodle who can be found being sung to sleep in the studio!
